Limited run of 30 hand printed tapes
Since this was a limited promotional item, I wanted to elevate the packaging.
The transparent green tape stock was perfect to go along with my design concept, and I printed a 'reptilian' scale pattern on the B-side with the band's name on the front. To print them, I came up with a process to screen each side using an improvised tape jig, an ink that cures at room temperature, and a putty knife to hold the print area flat along the tape's protruding bottom. Each tape was numbered 1-30.
The cover art is drawn in Micron pen and driven by the title track from the tape. The texture in the window and on the interior flap of the tape are layered hand-written text with the lyrics to the track. This lyric texture was also used for a 'static' effect in motion promos created for social media. Each line of text for the title and track info was also replicated using marker to match the texture of the other elements.
